Teacher: Catherine Lehmann-Reide

French is taught everyday to all children at Perkins. Each session is 15 minutes and the older groups receive an addition 30 minutes once a week on their “Lodge Day.”

Through books, songs, games, puppets, and finger plays the children open their minds to the sounds and joys of a new language. We use as many hands on and real objects as possible. The children are encouraged but not forced to participate when they are ready.

French Curriculum:
Basic Conversation-how to say their name, ask a question, manners
Travel-culture and geography
Days of the Week-calendar
Family and the Home
Animals and Insects
Parts of the Body
Holidays, Cultural Events, Art, and Music
